My Talented Friends...

Here are a few more from my quilt group- I sewed a bit yesterday for the first time in MONTHS!!

Terry made this beautiful blessing dress for her new grandgirl...

And it wouldn't be our group without a circle quilt!!

And this clever quilt was made by the Aussie, a visitor to our little group.

Yes, another beautiful circle quilt! Barbara made this one...

Barbara purchased this  4th of July quilt  for such a good price, she couldn't pass it up!

Okay, gotta run. Two sons, One Daughter in Law, and Four grandkids arrived during the night. We had the house liveable by about 1:30 am... they arrived at 4:30.... I'm hoping to stay awake today to enjoy them!!

Circle Wheels and More

Dawn had a bunch of pinwheels, but they just weren't doing anything for her.
So she decided to make them into circle blocks.

She used a reverse-applique technique for a finished edge on the circles. I can't wait to see how this quilt's going to look!

Dawn also brought the Play for Pink quilt WIP made from the blocks we all made.

We help out every year with blocks for this Breast Cancer Aution event. Dawn thinks this is her favorite one yet, and we hope it will raise a lot of money for such a good cause.

Will you just look at all of the wonderful blocks in Helen's patriotic quilt?

And these two colorful mini quilts are table toppers by Helen.

A few from group...

Our little quilt group met on the last Friday in June- I HAD to take a break from all this house/moving business, right?

And I'm glad I did!

More tomorrow!

(It's a beautiful day here in the Pacific Northwest. Wish I had time to play today!!)

What Do You Stand For?

This is a quilt I  made quite a few years ago, when working with girls age 12-18 in our church. I came across it the other day while unpacking. (Nope. Not done unpacking yet. Not even close.)

Our theme for the year was "What Do You Stand For?"

Each girl designed a quilt with that theme. Most used appliqued images that had meaning to them. No two quilts were alike, and it was great to see them all hung up together at the end of the year.

Mine is all denim with words hand embroidered on squares that I then blanket-stitched to each block.

It was so thick once I was done that I just tied it at the corners of each appliqued piece and on the corners of each larger block. All of the color variation is just different shades of blue denim.
