Only one of our kids got a quilt for Christmas. The quilt was one I'd pieced several years ago, but it sat on my pile of WIPS unquilted. I finally had Terry quilt it for me.
It's all homespun fat quarters. The pattern is Turning Twenty- 20 FQs, a few cuts and a bit of rearranging, and there you have it. I used a plaid flannel for the backing, so it's especially cozy.
That was too funny! Isn't it great when someone loves what you made as much as you do? It's a beautiful quilt that's for sure. Nice and manly looking. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI love the photoshot and the colors in that quilt are super cozy! It just makes me want to cuddle up next to the fire!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame him for being excited, it's a wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat's just absolutely beautiful - it looks so warm and snuggly! I adore his reaction. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful quilt and who wouldn't love it.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I do not think I have seen that pattern done with those colors it really turned out wonderful, also love the background behind the quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat was probably the best reaction to receiving a quilt I've ever seen! And the quilt deserved every bit of it - I love it! Happy New Year to you!! xo, Nan
ReplyDeleteHey Mrs. Allgood, it's Alex, Taylor's roommate. He mentioned that Ryan got a quilt for Christmas, but he didn't receive one himself. He proceeded to mention that he wished he had received one. This may be a good idea for a birthday or christmas present this year.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs. Allgood - This is Ryan's friend Karrie. I noticed that this is turning into a forum for quilt requests. Please consider this my official request for a one-of-a-kind Stephanie Allgood quilt. I'm not too particular about colors. It doesn't have to be as 'manly' as Ryan's though.
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated!
Karrie
P.S. My birthday is in Dec. You shouldn't need that much time. How about my half birthday July 25?
;)
la,la,love these warm colors and that buttery yellow. Perfect for your son!
