Our little quilt group is famous.
Well, there was a little article about us in the local paper a little over a year ago, and someone cut it out and saved it.
She works at a rehabilitation/convelesent center, and she asked us to come share our quilts.
Six of us were able participate, talking a bit about quilting in general, and then sharing some of the details about the quilts we brought with us. And we had some time to answer questions and visit.
I think they enjoyed it, and I know we were glad we could bring a small quilt show to them!
Wonderful!!!!

Awesome! What a nice thing to do. Blessings, Karen
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to do. I bet it brightened their day seeing all those gorgeous quilts. Good stuff. x
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea. I think I will 'steal' your idea and ask the director of the home where my husband is if she'd like for us to do that one day. Surely everyone would love to remember the quilts of their childhood.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got a picture of the audience from behind! It's great - mind if I borrow it for my blog, too? I had a hard time when I walked in there - but it was a good thing for me and I know I got more out of it than our guests. I hope we can do it again next year! xo, Nan
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I loved seeing the piles of quilts. How could that not brighten anyones day?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing for you ladies to do!! So simple, but I'm sure it brightened the day of your audience members. I'd love to have you come to NYC and put on a quilt show in MY home!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! (There's a Dragon in my Art Room). I'm not a quilter (that's about the only thing I DON'T do!) but I'll definitely check back from time to time -I'd like to see your papier-mache when you post it. Please keep checking my blog as well...
