'Round Halloween
This one has 64 blocks from a variety of fabrics, again with raw edge appliqued circles. I made this quilt top LAST year before Halloween. Nope. Still not quilted.
So pretty. I am making a circle quilt myself...thanks to your tutorial. I cut the circles last night using your suggestion of the CD for a template. Now, I'm undecided as to whether I'm going to cut the squares for the background of each circle or do what others have done and just use one big piece of backing fabric. I like the idea of no piecing, but wonder if in the long run it will be more work trying to zig zag around all the circles on a huge piece of fabric. I'll let you know what I decide. Thanks for all your work in putting together your two Circle Tutorials.
Thanks Rene'. I think one large piece is more difficult to manage, but how about a compromise? Cut a piece large enough for a four circle block. That would be easier to manage but still less piecing. (If I did it that way, I'd change to an even number of circles.) Oh, that might look cool-to try it with different backgrounds for each four-circle block!

ReplyDeleteI am inspired to make one. I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh quilting is so over-rated anyway! Table cloths are great.
ReplyDeleteSO pretty! I vote tablecloth, too. Now you'll need matching napkins, Stephanie. rofl One thing does lead to another, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteWell it is darling. Get it quilted!
