Our group met last week, so here are a few photos from our fun Friday.
Yes, more circles!
We had a service auction at church and the funds provided Christmas gifts to families in need. I offered to make a circle quilt in the colors/fabric of the winner's choice. Molly's was the highest bid, and she asked for greens and browns...she had fun looking through my stash! Many of these were fabrics I was going to use in a quilt along, that I ran out of time for... This will be for Molly's nephew, arriving in April, and these are the colors for the baby's nursery.
Here's another circle quilt, for another baby boy. Marsha made her first circle quilt for her grandson, also due in April. She said doing the border in a RANDOM pattern was a break-out moment for her!!
Lori and Nan's friend, the Aussie, is a new quilter, but you sure can't tell by her work! These will be picnic quilts for the summer Christmases of Australia. We got to see these before Terry quilts them.
And here is Terry's appliqued quilt-perfection!
Denise shared her cute Christmas embroidery, all framed and ready for gift giving. (She wins the prize for most organized, that's for sure!!)
Ardith's working on a quilt with a square medallion center, and asked for advice on making the quilt a rectangle. She's the queen of borders, so she can just add extras to the top and bottom as the quilt grows.
Claudia shared her big zig zag- lots of great color and yummy fabrics!
Speaking of BIG, Dawn's gigantic quilt top is the winner in more ways than one!
I love how the small squares in blue, with hints of orange and other colors, really give this quilt some pop.
More tomorrow!
Make it a Wonderful Day!
Great quilts. You have some talented quilters in your group!
ReplyDeleteGoodness me Stephanie, it's like opening presents at Christmas! Love them all. Really love the circles quilts of course and that one with the birds is just too cute. Amazingly talented friends you have.
