Quilt for a Big Apple Baby

My daughter and her husband live in New York City. Yes, it's way too far away. Especially when she's having a baby.

She's having a boy, but she doesn't like baby blue.

So I made her a charcoal and turquoise zigzag quilt. 36x 44.

Hand quilted with perle cotton.
Utility sitched. (That's just another way to say my stitches are gigantic and uneven...)

Any ideas for boy baby names? :D

  1. That is one funky and fabulous baby quilt. Love all your stuff but don't get to comment enough! I was an art teacher and wonder if I ever will be again. You make me miss it so.

  2. My daughter lives in NYC too. It is waaay too far away from me. She is expecting a baby in October. I am working on a baby quilt that is bright and not gender-specific. Drop by and see: http://www.karenssewingroom.blogspot.com/2012/04/this-weekends-progress.html

  3. Congratulations on the soon to be new grandson! This is a wonderful idea for a baby quilt. I am working on a similar one for a baby boy too (great minds think alike) in ocean shades of greens and blues. I'm actually heading to NYC this weekend for a quick girls trip. Boy name suggestions include Thomas, Asher, Luke and Jake;-)
