Leaf Inspired Abstracts

This year, we started Art Club with soft pastels to introduce line types.

I love how the pastels look on black paper- and the kids really enjoy them too.

Looking to leaves for inspiration, we saw all sorts of great edges, veins, stems, and holes that we could use in our abstract compositions. The colors were entirely up to the artists!

Make it a Wonderful Day!

  3. I love working in pastel with kids - they just have such a lovely, smudgy quality that makes the colours do interesting things together. These pictures fabulous, the colour combinations - amazing! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Picasso was right! "All children are artists, the trick is to remain an artist after one grows up." (paraphrased)
